DREAM EVIL Working On New Material
December 12, 2008Guitarist/producer Fredrik Nordström of Swedish melodic metallers DREAM EVIL has issued the following update:
"We are right now writing songs for the next album with the working title 'In The Night'. I believe that the release date will be before summer of next year. As usual, will we prepare approximately 30 songs and take the 15 best for recording. We will enter the studio on December 8th to start recording 4-5 songs and then continue in.
"Other than that, I can tell you that the DREAM EVIL camp now has 11 kids in total (MINI EVIL will start touring 2020, haha) and two of them are not even one year old, so we will have to wait some more before we can do longer tours again, but those who are waiting for some good stuff shall not remain waiting for too long. Consequently, we are working on some shorter tours and festival appearances around the planet."
Upcoming DREAM EVIL shows:
April 24-25 - Pontins, Prestatyn Sands - North Wales, UK (Hammerfest 2009)
June 18-20 - Kleinwenkheim - Schweinfurt, Germany (Queens Of Metal Festival 2009)
DREAM EVIL recently released its first live DVD/CD, "Gold Medal In Metal (Alive & Archive)", via Century Media. The double CD (with a playing time of over two hours!) and the special DVD version (playing time of the DVD is over 100 minutes and both audio CDs are included in this package as well) are a complete guide into the vaults of DREAM EVIL and "a trip to the core of true metal at its very rockin' best," according to a press release. The bonus disc ("Archive") features over an hour of previously unreleased and rare material, including plenty of Japanese bonus songs from the recording sessions for "The Book Of Heavy Metal" (featuring former band members Gus G. on guitar and Snowy Shaw on drums) and earlier albums, some outtakes from the band's latest studio opus "United" and three brand new studio tracks recorded especially for this release in 2007.
